Snapchat Changes Name to Snap and Introduces Spectacles - Sunglasses Mounted with Two Cameras

Snapchat has announced a name change to Snap.

In addition to this name change, Snap has introduced their first step into the hardware world with Spectacles, a pair of sunglasses with 2 total cameras - one mounted on each lens.  Spectacles is capable of recording 10 second video clips from the wearers POV. A tap of a button near the hinge will start another clip recording.  Spectacles transfers the clips to the phone wirelessly. Camera lens angle is 115 degrees giving it a field of view closer to the human eye.

Spectacles will be slowly released to market with a limited production. Snap will test the market and see if there is demand before producing more. Spectacles will be priced at $129.99

Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 Inspired By Back To The Future On Sale November 28, 2016


Nike has released further information about the HyperAdapt 1.0.  Consumers will soon be able to RSVP for a Nike Experience and purchase a pair beginning November 28, 2016. Further details will be announced in the following weeks.

Wired has an article with the designers of the shoe, where they discuss the inspiration of the shoe from when Marty McFly first puts on a pair.

The shoe has taken 11 years of research and development and Nike has finally completed the technology they call "adaptive fit" and will start selling self lacing shoes this holiday season.

GoPro Karma


GoPro Drone Karma - $799 for a foldable drone


GoPro has announced the Karma, a compact fold able drone. The Karma can fly at a maximum of 35 mph, distance of 3280 ft, and altitude of 14,500 ft. Flight time is up to 20 minutes with the use of a Li-Po 14.8V battery.

The Karma includes a touch screen controller with a screen size of 5 inches, screen resolution of 720p, and battery life of 4 hours. Charging time for the drone is 1 hour and 2.5 hours for the controller.

The Karma GoPro Drone has a detachable stabilizer arm that can be used to stabilize video capture when the the drone cannot be used.

Karma is compatible with Hero 5 and Hero 4.

The Karma is available on October 23, 2016 for $799.99, only for the drone, stabilizer, and case.

photokina 2016: Nikon reveals final specs for KeyMission 360


 Nikon has finally revealed the final specifications and price for the KeyMission 360, a VR ready 360 degree camera capable of shooting in 4K.

With the KeyMission 360, users can also create time-lapse sequences, ultra-smooth slow motion videos or capture 23.9-megapixel stills. KeyMission 360 is waterproof down to 98-feet with included underwater lens protector, freezeproof down to 14°F and shockproof up to a drop of 6.6-feet.

The Nikon KeyMission is set to release on October 26, 2016 for the retail price of $499.95.
